On arrival please turn on the water valve under the sink then switch on the water heater and ventilation fans by pushing up the 2 switches marked CUMULUS & VMC on the electric junction box to your right. The ventilation fans for kitchen and shower room are 2 speed and the rocker switch to control high / low speed is near the oven - you may prefer low at night as the motor is quieter.The fridge and freezer will just need to be plugged in.

Whenever leaving the property lower the shutter fully and lock, to raise and lower the shutter internally for instance at night then use the up/down rocker switches to the right of junction box - you must always leave a minimum shutter exit gap of 1 metre when inside building.

There are 7 litres of sealed drinking water in the fridge, please replace any used bottles before final departure.

Feel free to use the kayak, cycles, fishing rods (no licence requires for Gapeau or sea) - as there is no spray cover on kayak then use only on the river otherwise you could sink!

Be careful of the mid-day sun- it's much stronger than in the UK and very easy to be sunburnt, many shops are closed from 12.00 to 15.00 hrs.

The 'Boathouse' is set amongst a working environment - people in the South are friendly so always say bonjour or bonsoir to the 'neighbours' - you will soon make friends! Park your car opposite the boathouse entrance leaving sufficient space for boat trailer movements along the road.

On final departure ensure any equipment like chairs, cycles, kayak, fishing rods are placed inside, place any used bed linen, towels etc. by the washing machine for the cleaner to attend to later.

Make sure the water valve is turned off under sink, remove plugs from sockets of any heating appliances and oven, empty the fridge and/or freezer of perishable food and remove plugs, switch off CUMULUS & VMC switches on electric control panel, ensure lights and ceiling fan are off, lock up and then deposit any rubbish in the bins by the green entrance gate.

For safety purposes the gas hob is disconnected, the electric oven has 2 hotplates and a grill. For the nearest convenience store (4 mins.) turn right at main road and drive towards the sea, at the junction turn left and the 8 to 8 shop you will see to your left - easy parking.
